On Sunday (6/13) I walked across a stage to receive a piece of paper that wasn't my diploma. Weird. On the bright side, I got my first and probably final handshake from Chancellor Yang, it's a big deal, trust me. I sat with Mika and behind me sat Taylor, and a whole bunch of people I'd encountered in my four years at UCSB graduated before my eyes. My family and extended family was there to celebrate, and we had a wonderful dinner at Yen Ching's.
I'd like to add that Yen Ching's has THE BEST fried chicken wings I have ever eaten. My Aunt Evelyn was telling me that when I first wen there as a kid, it was during her wedding reception and they were filming a commercial while we entered. This commercial apparently aired for years and years to follow without my knowledge that I was forever immortalized in its entity. Sadly, no copy of this video exist on the internet. Come to think of it, I remember pigging out on fried chicken wings back then too, so I wouldn't want that kind of video evidence to exist against me, I'm not ready to embrace my uncontrollable glutton just yet.
There's talk of having a Grad party for me later on this month at Oxnard, anyone interested in coming should ask me for some deets.
After dinner, I went back to pack up all of my belongings from my apartment and leave Goleta for the summer. It is an absolutely heartbreaking notion to think that I have but only one quarter left of studying at UCSB. I think that that sadness just hit me today while sitting in my room after a long day of hanging out with my brother and his family. I will keep my resolve for as long as I can, tears are for when its really over, and any sign of breaking before then will simply have to be forgiven because I simply can not ask for permission to express my emotions.
I look forward to a fun summer, with the SDCC just within arms reach I can't really be too bummed. I'll be able to fulfill part of my Bucket List there if all goes according to plan. !!! Which reminds me that I'm still taking suggestions for activities to add to my list, so if anyone's got some good ones feel free to share.
