Too Much Free Time

Waking up today, I had a very strict set of things to do lined up for me, and I was pretty much dedicated to accomplishing them. I sent out my financial aid forms, and did some grocery shopping for some much needed snacks around the house. I got all of that accomplished in the span of three hours, which I think is pretty snazzy.

I am still in the process of unpacking essential items, and I've nearly got all of my toiletries out on my bathroom counter. There are still some things that I'm still looking for, like cords and books, but once I've got that all sorted out I'll be a happy camper.

I spent most of my night re-watching current season Doctor Who episodes getting myself psyched up for the upcoming two parter finale. I rewatched Time of the Angels, and Flesh and Stone to get a little more insight into the upcoming finale. There's a lot that I'm really excited to see resolved, like how when Amy was left in the ship's artificial forest, the Doctor that comes back is wearing a jacket, when they clearly made a big deal about it not even ten minutes before about how he was caught by the jacket when the weeping angels had him. If he lost his jacket in that encounter then that means that the Doctor that comes back to comfort blind Amy is a Doctor from a future timeline. A timeline, in which he goes back to see seven year old Amelia Pond and tells her something important that she needs to remember.

This would also line up with the way they alluded to the Doctor's return in The Eleventh Hour, when Amelia goes out to wait for him in the yard. I think that they are showing how events line up with Amy, she's our reference point because somehow she's experiencing encounters with the Doctor the same way he experiences encounters with River Song, out of order yet still chronologically (in a way) in her timeline.

I rather like shows about time travel when they actually do time travel well. Futurama's Bender's Big Score is an example of this, a bad example of time travel is Orson Scott Card's Pastwatch: The Redemption of Christopher Columbus (let's not get me started).

Tonight's plans now constitute me getting caught up on the latest and last episodes of Better off Ted, and possibly more Doctor Who with my alonely self.
